Yes, for me this was the most difficult puzzle of all of them because it was so culture/time specific. This does show how some IQ testing can be biased.
Yes, I had to review the other letters in the puzzle to distinguish the i from an l. Considered that part of the puzzle.
Yes, I figured it out before reading this and agree about your comment regarding ‘dark’ and it’s relation to the other words helps narrow it down. Though one could still figure out regardless.
for someone who doesn’t read literature or drink alcohol this is though. been at it since it got posted still trying to figure out answer to #3 is it by any chance a Latin word? unless its some sort of candy bar.
Went back and figured out the whole thing. Very challenging puzzle and very satisfying to complete it and see how it all fits, makes sense and is not obscure with any of the clues or solutions. Only culturally oriented.
I managed. With a little nudge related to third clue, I managed to solve it all.
The biggest trap I fell into was using Dark car on tour as third clue. From there trying everything from Black beauty and KITT to sedan, tourbus etc. Raid (Dark car ~ dakkar) was promissing and it led me tro Car Aid. I spent ages thinking about mechanics, grease monkeys and jacks.
Awaiting the next puzzle now,
i think i got #3 and probably #4, but clue for #5 came out as 3 word nonsense
Only the answer for 7th clue has 7 letters
Got the final answer right but still have no clue what the and 3rd and 4th words are supposed to be
This puzzle is going to be the death of me, I have been working at it on and off since it came out and I only have the answer for the 1st clue, not certain if even that one is right. I thought I had an answer for the 8th clue, but I couldn’t determine its foe.
In a similar boat, finding this the hardest so far, not even got past the first clue yet!
As today is the final day for this puzzle and some still seem to be struggling, I’ll summarise the advice which I’ve offered others, which appears to have helped them, without giving too much away.
Answer 1 - only one obvious answer which fits into clue 2.
Clue 2 - second word begins with lower-case L not I.
Answer 2 - many possible answers but find one which creates a three word clue 3.
Clue 3 - an odd clue but you’re probably thinking along the right lines. You could also think of the clue as ‘[word2] [word3] which is [word1]’.
Answer 3 - tricky but if you get this, the puzzle will suddenly get a LOT easier.
Answer 7 - logically this MUST be a 7 letter word.
Clue 8 - Dea_'s is two words. The first word should be fairly obvious (which gives you the start of the word in answer 7). The literature referenced is extremely well-known, globally. It’s a fantastical tale which has been translated into every language imaginable and has sold over half a billion copies worldwide.
Nailing Answer 3 or Answer 7 should unravel most of the puzzle and give you enough letters to reach the solution. As with most puzzles, the solution is related to the overall theme of the puzzle. Then you can go back and fill in the gaps, knowing the letters which slot into the clues you’ve not yet solved.
Hope that helps!
advanced from clue 2 to clue 7, stuck there on the answer that will fit to the next clue
give it a last push before time expires
I couldn’t solve it.
I got clues 1,2 (edit: and 3),7 and 8 (i think), but then got stuck. The answer i have to clue 8 somehow doesn’t seem to make any meaningful combinations with that ‘l’ character of clue 9.
Oh wait, do we still have time to solve puzzle 34? I thought the time was already over.
Afaik, you have until midnight GMT to solve this puzzle (i.e. a little under 10 hrs remaining).
If you have the correct answer for no.8, it should incorporate very easily into clue 9 (which is a lower-case L).
finished it, could guess it after 6 letters,
no idea what the literature reference was, guess I’m to old
I’d wager that I’m probably older than you
Yes, I finally got it!!!
It was such a heureka moment, when i finally got it.
Still am missing 4 clues, but could guess the solution word nevertheless.
does the answer have anything to do with queen Elizabeth II ?
No. It does not. Stuck?
