Would you rather… Go back into the past and witness Earth’s beginning or peek into the far future and see how far earth and humans have made it?
Definitely the future! We know most of the past already lol
Probably the past. Yes we know so much but think of what we could learn. Not the mention would love to see the earth before we got our hands on it.
Great question @Divinenebula, I like sci-fi futuristic stories, so the idea or vision of how far we’ve gone is interesting to me.
Great point @Shawntai! I find the time-related concepts from all the telescope images interesting.
Me too! It’s such a crazy concept that when we look into space we are looking into the past.
Yes! Very crazy! The endless amount of discoveries just waiting to be found!
I’d rather know the past (not tainted by politics). The future is what you make of it.
I don’t mind everybody would know everything from everybody’s past.
Strictly as an observer; the future not only to see what becomes of mankind but I’d love to see the milky way and Andromeda merge!!!
BOTH
because I if go into the future there will surely be an intergalactic cinema or full VR dive of the recreation of the universe forming. Best of both worlds
but if I was to go directly into the past I hope I am viewing it safely inside a time machine which can speed up the process of the world being formed.
otherwise I will be there for millions of years and if I am somehow immune to the effects of time just because I am in a time machine then that would suffice
I would have to go to the past just to find Lost knowledge.
Well, because of the way you worded it, I would go back and see the earth’s beginning, see how it was formed, watch the physics at work, and then use that to help the future.
Yes!!! Perfect! Thats a very beneficial response!!
I would do both of I had to choose there’s a lot that can be learned from the past but at the same time the future can be pretty exciting as well
yeah but then you have created a paradox as if you improve the future like Elon, then you would have had to go back into the past in order to make it happen
If anybody is serious about this, I might share my insights.
I have a discovery, filed, dated, officially registered as my belongings in my country by a judge and lawyers (meaning, I can prove ownership), but it’s not been published anywhere, nor peer reviewed, even though it’s an undeniable truth that proves how information travels faster than light, mathematically speaking.
I’ve shared it here and there, merely to leave a timestamp, and it has sparked controversies and awe, but most out there were not good at math nor algorithms, only a few were skilled enough to comprehend it. With these premises though, I’m not trying to judge at priori as I’m stubborn enough to help the “unqualified” understand it applying the maieutic method to the best of my possibilities, even if I only get repeated/multiple insults back.
I’m also open to endorsements, if anybody wants to help, since I don’t have access to journals or laureates that can help writing an article, if someone wants to publish a polished version of this with my consent, so that we can all appear as the authors.
Nonetheless, I’m willing to have a debate here as I don’t have anything to lose and, honestly, I’m not interested in fame nor money per se, mere recognition as the author of these assertions is enough for me.
So, introduction apart, if I may, let me show you the closest thing to a time machine there is, albeit not quite the one of the movies/books.
(more follows beneath the picture)
You’re looking at all the possible permutations in a “universe” of 4bits “events”.
AEIOU are mere identifiers/symbols for binary strings with the same entropy (more on this later).
Bear with me now…“Why?” You may ask…
Because the BRUTE FORCE algorithm is a TIME MACHINE.
Let me prove it to you.
As you may know already, any binary string can be converted to an integer, as such, any file (picture, movie, text, archive, iso, 3d model, genomic sequence, etc) IS just an integer. This is undeniable.
Now, let’s stick to pictures for simplicity, in particular, 1bit palette pictures.
(this, for example is a 1bit palette picture of 120x120 pixels)
It may not look like it’s a lot but, can you recognize the person represented?
If you know him, of course you can: it’s Alan Turing.
The picture as you can all see is intelligible and conveys real information, of real events (in this case).
And, guess what? It is “just” an integer !!!
Now, it’s is undeniably true, mathematically, that, statistically, the chances that you can randomly pick an integer that corresponds to a real event are NON ZERO !!!
They’re definitely a remote possibility(pay attention, they’re only remote ON A HUGE SET, not on a small one), nobody is arguing that, but, they’re greater than zero, and that’s surreal !!!
It means that you can randomly pick an integer and literally watch PAST,PRESENT and FUTURE EVENTS !!! REAL EVENTS !!!
And that’s not even all there is to it !!! Say that we want to brute-force all the possible 1bit pictures of 8bits events starting from 00000000 to 11111111, can we save any time whatsoever ?
YES !!! We don’t need to search for ANYTHING below 10000000 because they just REPEAT THEMSELVES in a smaller frame of reference, the one made of 7bits events !!!
We just need to search from 10000000 to 11111111 to get an intelligible set, literally halving the time needed to brute force all the events, further increasing our odds !!!
But what’s even more fascinating is that the events are LITERALLY the set of all integers !!!
And their binary counterparts generate a set of entropy 1/2 !!! Never a single time more than that !!! No matter the resolution, the set of all the possible permutations will have 50% 0s and 50% 1s !!!
What’s even more surreal is how, taken singularly as a single binary expansion, a set becomes a permutation of a bigger set in which it resides as a single event !!!
And this goes on “forever”, or at least up to StackOverflow™.
Nevertheless, there, a proof that information travels faster than light.
Now, feel free to unleash the terminators.
In a nutshell, the “doodle” is a mere analysis of the set representing all the possible events in a universe of 16 events, only for simplicity (I wouldn’t have had enough paper for bigger examples).
The bigger the resolution, the higher the number of events, the higher the chances to see something interesting.
What’s fascinating and terrifying at the same time is that, even at the smallest resolutions (like 120x120) and with only 2 symbols/“colors”/elements (0 or 1, literally in binary), all our lives as seen through our eyes ARE THERE !!! Anybody’s !!! Some pictures are going to be garbage at that resolution, but what’s paradoxical is that multiple events of a given universe of reference can be arranged to make events from universes of bigger frames of reference !!!
You can combine them too !!! Take 4 events of the 120x120 set, combine them, and you get to the intelligible 240x240 version of a garbled 120x120 !!!
Small events are seeds for bigger ones! Pure fractal self-similarity in action !! You can surf through timelines with a stupid algorithm !!
Are you still there ? Are you following so far ?
Ask me anything if you’re confused, if you want to talk about it.
If not, I’ll leave this here and you do whatever you want with it.
Just don’t use it for publishing purposes (youtube videos and the like) without permission and without a copy of the original picture, including my name.
I’ve literally poured blood and tears to arrive to that conclusion after years of studies and private research, the least anybody can do is to give me credits, nothing else. Sorry!!
I couldn’t resist sharing it !!
I’ve had enough of keeping quiet. I hope to find people interested in developing it further. I’m of the idea that it could be possible to devise an algorithm/function for quantum telecommunication at FTL speeds, which is my ultimate goal (I’ve shared a single page out of thousands, and it’s not even the most interesting, imo).
I mean, if we’re going to Mars, I want to be able to talk with Earth instantaneously. This may help US ALL crack it.
Don’t ask me why here and now, I’m not God (which THIS proves as a serious outcome). I just believe that more eyes can solve a problem faster and better and we will all benefit, no matter who achieves it.
Farewell!
P.s. : this proves the simulation hypothesis to be plausible/probable(a gnostic origin of a universe) and that the multiverse is also plausible/probable and it can be described using numbers. Think about it…It’s kind of surreal yet sad but, out there, there was, there is and there will always be a number representing this whole life, as we’re seeing it…Always…
I’d like to see it all start
