For people who are doing it right now for the meta puzzle because they missed it earlier like me- the first clue may be a bit misleading. I actually had to solve all of them because it initially gave me the wrong letter, and only when I got the rest of them I guessed the right one. I was sure I did everything right, so I double-checked the first clue. I noticed that you have to take a different approach to these letters that is kind of unintuitive, so be wary of that. ---
